Experience a Lower Merion Tradition

The Lower Merion Society for the Detection and Prosecution of Horse Thieves and the Recovery of Stolen Horses (Established in 1818) is having its 198th Annual Banquet. This past June, the Lower Merion Historical Society merged with the Lower Merion Horse Company and we are happy to promote this annual event.

SAVE THE DATE. Our banquet will be Saturday, November 12th at The Cynwyd Club  located at 332 Trevor Lane in Bala Cynwyd.

It is open to the general public, so plan on attending and bring your friends.  Cocktails at 6:00pm with dinner to follow at 7:00pm.

The program will be both educational and fun. It will start with a presentation by Andrew Colket and G. Andrew Meschter who are members of the First Troop, Philadelphia City Cavalry. Mr. Meschter is the author of book “The Gentlemen of Gloucester – A New Look at the First Troop, Philadelphia City Calvary.”  Also, there will our version of the Triple Crown pari-mutuel gaming races.

The dinner menu for the evening is a cash bar for your wine and cocktail preference. We will be providing an oyster bar with fresh shucked oysters available at an additional cost of $3.00 per shuck. Crudite, cheese and bruschette platters with a traditional turkey dinner with soup, salad, dessert and coffee. The dinner is priced at $55.00 per person. If special meal requests are needed please notify us in advance.
