Do you love Philadelphia’s parks? GLOW in the Park is the Fairmount Park Conservancy’s 4th annual event to showcase Philly’s amazing parks and build the next generation of park champions.

Invite your friends to this unique experience of the Smith Memorial Arch glowing in the dark and hosting fellow park lovers for a night of music, food, drinks and special surprises!

*Fairmount Park Conservancy Members*: $45 includes drinks, food and entertainment. For member tickets, use the discount code provided to you in your last membership email newsletter when purchasing regular priced tickets. If you are a member and need the code, please contact the Fairmount Park Conservancy (215-988-9361).

Regular Price Non-Member tickets: $75 includes includes a $35 level membership to the Fairmount Park Conservancy plus food, drinks and entertainment.

Tickets at the door are $100/ticket

About the Smith Memorial Arch:

Built on the former grounds of the 1876 Centennial Exposition, the Smith Memorial Arch serves as a gateway to West Fairmount Park. The Memorial consists of two colossal columns supported by curving, neo-Baroque arches, and adorned with 13 individual portrait sculptures (2 equestrians, 3 figures, and 8 busts); two eagles standing on globes; and architectural reliefs of 8 allegorical figures.

The Fairmount Park Conservancy is a non-profit organization that exists to champion the Fairmount Park system. Longacre and Dorothy Cardella bring this fully staged and costumed opera for the enjoyment of young and old during the Halloween season.Everyone knows the story of the two children’s adventure after their Mother sends them into the dark and eerie woods in search of strawberries. Hansel and Gretel get lost in the deepest part of the wood until they discover the magical gingerbread house of the evil Witch, who quickly captures them and prepares to make them the latest batch of gingerbread children to add to her collection. Gretel outsmarts the Witch and pushes her into the oven, freeing the other children from her magical spell and ending her reign of terror.Featuring: Teri Seri as Hansel, Dorothy Cardella as Gretel, Sharon Derstine as The Mother, Edward Bogusz as The Father, Sandra Hartman as The Dew Fairy & The Sandman, James R. There’s something for everyone to love at this year’s Ardmore Oktoberfest and Family Fun Festival on October 10. The fall family and Oktoberfest celebration takes place from 2–8 p.m. on Cricket Avenue in Ardmore. Presented by The Ardmore Initiative, McCloskey’s Tavern and John Henry’s Pub, this fall festival offers German food, Oktoberfest beers, live music and popular kids’ activities, such as face painting and a moonbounce. The O’Fenders will be providing live music from 2–5 p.m., followed by the James D.
