The Lower Merion Historical Society will be making a presention on the history of Belmont Hills at the Firehouse on Thursday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. The event is free, with light refreshments being provided by the Belmont Hills Civic Association.

Montgomery County residents should sign up for Smart911. It is a free service that residents can use to provide information they want first responders to have in the event of an emergency – like how many pets you have or if someone in the home has a disability and needs special assistance. If a 911 call is received from the phone number in the profile, the profile will automatically be displayed to the 911 call taker. Registration is open for the Dale Chihuly Botanical Garden Trip with Wayne Art Center! Thursday, October 26, 7am – 7pm.
$175 for WAC Member
$195 for Non Member
Includes: Luxury bus, private curatorial tour of the Dale Chihuly works, private room buffet lunch made with fresh and fine culinary ingredients, all-day garden pass and bus refreshments – yes, wine will be served!
Also note, we will have Laura Ducceschi, WAC photography faculty, guide (beginners to advanced) on how to capture the fall landscape. Her personalized instructions will emphasize the changing sunlight throughout the day, exposure, ISO settings, filter usage, etc.

Bike Ride the Chester Valley Trail Slunday, Aug. 27th 11:00 a.m.
Calling all bike riders! Let’s join the Main Line & Tiroler Ski Cubs and Ride on the Chester Valley Trail. Meet at a Park & Ride behind the Enterprise Rent– A–Car (801 W DeKalb Pike, King of Prussia, PA 19406).
The Chester Valley Bike Trail has an entrance right there and heads west all the way to the Exton trail head. We are planning a stop at Wegman’s (Malvern) for lunch on the return trip.
The total distance for this ride is about 26 miles. Directions: • Going north on Rt 202; pass the Motel 6 and turn right just past the Enterprise Rent-A-Car onto King of Prussia Road follow to the Park and Ride on the Left. • Coming North on S. Gulph Rd. Turn left at the Bill Smith Blvd sign and follow to the Park and Ride on the right.
